Abbott's first flash glucose monitoring system (launched 2014 in Europe, 2017 in the US): a factory-calibrated sensor worn on the back of the upper arm for 10-14 days is scanned with a dedicated reader to show glucose readings and trend arrows, without routine fingersticks for dosing decisions. Superseded by FreeStyle Libre 2/3.
